Cowl/windshield bracket

Replacing the door pillar support metal but to do it right, I really need to remove the below pictured bracket. Is this bracket reproduced? I cant find it and I have tried searching by a variety of different names to see what comes up. It is the bracket between the windshield frame and the A pillar. I am being careful not to ruin this one and if I have to, I can fabricate a new one but I have better things to do with my time. Hoping new ones are out there.

No idea.. But I believe you are experiencing "Project Creep"...

Yeah...I think your right. If you saw this car in person though, it's easy to predict that happening! This car came from A snow state and has rust everywhere you would expect it.

I managed to get everything apart and saved the original bracket. Just finished cleaning out the old residual metal parts and also fitting the new hinge pillar side components.  Now I just need to spend some time cleaning everything out really nice, welding pin holes along bottom edge of windshield, and painting in the rust paint in the areas that will never see light of day again. Eventually, I'll put this sucker on a rotisserie and get into the nooks and crannies with a sand blaster. I'm actually getting more excited about the car as it comes along.

I have a couple of these brackets I replaced on mine with a solid plate because of my roll cage.

Why replace them? Just remove and replace them. If they're hurting, repair them. May I also suggest sectioning in a new piece in the w/s trough where it's rotted? You can certainly weld up pinholes, but in 6 months to a year- if you're lucky- you'll have more grief. How much behind the holes you've got now are the next ones to pop open? Your old man, like mine, probably told you that "a job worth doing, is a job worth doing well" and he was right. The patch is basically just an "L" and is easy to make. You're doing a hell of a job; keep up the good work!

Actually, I did just that. I cut out the bad area and made a new piece that fit right in. Had to stop this week because of rain but the door pillar pieces are joined and fitted. Just need to install the assembly in the car. Fits perfect and you were right about joining the halves first. I tried mocking them in separate and it was too much headache.
