NEED HELP TO IDENTIFY THESE HEADLIGHT BRACKETS
« on: January 08, 2017 - 12:57:54 PM »
Hey guys; I was wondering if anyone knew where these headlight bucket brackets were from. I looked pretty extensively for a match, but could not find a match with all 4 of corners chopped off. Pretty sure they are not e-body. Anybody seen these before?   Thanks, dave

I thought so at first too, alan. Then I started looking at Ebay auction pics and they are very different from these here.

I have a pair similar to those, they are not accessible right now to compare but they came with a parts stash from a guy who parted a few 70 Satellites while building a 70 Roadrunner vert....

They sure look a lot like the ones from my 70 Super Bee.

Found this on ebay, looks like Beekeeper is right. On the last picture, the seller wrote "70 Bee" on the bottom.

I think you guys are right. Someone told me that you could identify what car they came from by the part stamping. I found the stamping under some heavy dirt. It reads

SAE-H-70-W

This person I mentioned said that the "W" stood for the model it was off of and that corresponded with the first character of the VIN. "W" is the first character for Dodge's Coronet or Super Bee.

For comparison,I just looked at my 1971 Barracuda headlight bucket brackets. Both read SAE-H-71-B. The Barracuda's VIN begins with "B"

If this is true,it would make parts identification a lot easier.

Thanks,Dave
