904 to 727
« on: June 29, 2005 - 06:33:37 AM »
Hello , I am thinking of changing my small block 904 trans out with a small block 727 trans. Question is does the drive shaft need to be changed or is it the same? Also what about kickdown linkages?  :???:
Thanks
Mike

the kickdown will be the same , the slip yolk needs to be changed & the driveshaft shortened

Is there a drive shaft for 727 small block challenger? Have you ever shortened a shaft? Probably best left for a professional to do? Wouldn't want any extra vibrations... As it is I am already unstable enough... :ack:
Thanks...

35 year old drives shaft should be balanced even if it is the right size.
