Special.
« on: October 09, 2016 - 06:42:59 AM »
I was at a get together with some friend's the other evening. One of the guy's there had just got his Charger back from the paint shop. It's a triple black 1969 with a 440 automatic. All the number's are good but there is no fender tag or broadcast sheet. He knew this when he bought the Charger. He came up to me and showed me a fender tag that someone wanted to sell him. It was a tag that only had the word "SPECIAL" stamped in it. Nothing else. I asked what the meaning of "SPECIAL" was as far as fender tag's go but no one could give me a good answer. So I figured someone here could fill me in.
What does a "SPECIAL" fender tag mean?   :clueless:

I've seen tags before with "Special Handling" and "Special" on them - I am nowhere near an expert but I was always told they were on cars that required specific things on the assembly line that were out of the norm
