Can an in use voted poll be modified?

I have searched and could not find an answer.
Can an existing poll that has already had votes cast  have more choices added to the poll ?

As far as I know . . . YES by the member that started it.  Go to the first post and hit modify and go from there.

 I have tried that going back to the first in the thread and can only modify the message.
I tried to go back in the recent posts section back to the original , went 10 pages , and just miss by one day trying that to get to the original.

The one about what TV car show do you watch? I wanted to add the suggested shows from that thread.
It is not a big deal , that may just be one of the updated features for the redesign thats been talked about if that can be done.
