E-Brake
« on: February 08, 2017 - 09:12:25 PM »
I removed mine when we installed frame connectors. Do I need one? If so, how about those electrical actuated ebrakes?

Amazing the amount of work some people go to,  to get the crappy ebody ebrake cables installed.  It has to be the worst engineering Chrysler ever did.
EMCD, check out the estopp on toxic wolf's car or the ebrake john put in his cuda.
It's in their build threads. johns cuda shop is the john I'm talking about

I think the work involved to use the old ebrake is cost prohibitive. You think I can go w/o? On all my other cars, I've never used it.

Probably depends on the DMV.  IF you have yearly inspections, they might not let you register the car without one.  It's also an extra safety measure if your hydraulic brakes ever go out.  You can always use the e-brake to get the car stopped.  I'd personally want an e-brake.

My manual trans car has been without an ebrake since 1985. Put the original cables on for the inspection, been in the garage attic ever since.

We don't have inspections like most states. I think you could get away with driving on 3 wheels here in Colorado.

I remember being in Illinois a few years ago and see some rather questionable, uh, vehicles? on the road. One with no drivers side fender and plastic for a door window caught my eye.  :sly:
