Legendary Interiors Cuda rear seat cover fitting issue.
« on: February 18, 2017 - 06:33:26 PM »
I have a problem with the rear upright seat back cover purchased from Legendary around mid December.

The rear down section is perfect aside from being extremely tight as others have mentioned. My trimmer who is extremely experienced has said that there is too much piping along the top of each back section, see pics and that seems to be the issue. Apart from padding it out which may look strange he has said the only other option is to unpick it, adjust and re-stitch which is tricky and may not end up perfect.

Has anyone else experienced similar or have any ideas? I'm UK based so sending it back is not a straight forward option. What I really need is a new cover that is 100% correct from Legendary.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks, G.

I've never had a problem with their items. Did he run a heat gun over it to shrink the vinyl a bit?

I too have not had a problem with Legendary Upholstery. What may or may not be the case in your situation is that the tightening of the hog rings in the back was not done in correct order nor tightly stretched.

Appreciate the comments. Yes he's heat gunned it and tried for a better fit. The actual vinyl sections themselves are cut fine, it's just that there is like an inch of piping too much either side pushing things out which you be able to see from the pictures.

Yes: The midsection appears to fit perfectly. It wouldn't cost Legendary much to send a new piece.

I didn't have any problems like that with my very covers from Legendary.

I'm sure there is a standard pattern they normally use when cutting and assembling the covers and could easily blame the frame of the seat not being correct or not enough stuffing/padding.
I'm willing to bet Legendary will suggest adding more stuffing/padding on each side and upper corners.
The corners don't look filled in enough to me. This would pull the material/piping a little tighter.
Just my thoughts.

I'll try to get a better and closer pic but here is mine, which I did myself.
