Six pack carb question
« on: February 26, 2017 - 05:58:47 PM »
I was adjusting the idle speed on my 70 Challenger 440-6 and noticed that the choke plate has a VERY slight bend on the top portion to it sort of like the choke is partially closed when it is completely vertical on the lower half. The car is fairly new to me and this is the first time I have had the air breather off of her since I got her. I am fairly confident that all three carbs are new. Is this normal? The bend is constant across the entire top half of the plate and appears to start at the slotted rod that holds the butterfly and is not wavy or crooked. I don't have an angle gauge but I would guess it has a one to two degree bend to the front of the carb. It appears that it was made that way but I have never see that before.
