. I'm hoping the body work will be all done next year and it sitting in primer waiting for paint. I told my buddy doing the body work I'm not in a real big hurry since I need to save up for it anyway (And he has other projects as well).

Told my buddy the same thing 3 years ago and I'm still waiting for my doors, fenders, hood and deck lid to be painted.   :roflsmiley:  Fortunately, he did get the shell, quarters done so I'm in the process of putting the interior in although I had to take a two year break for back to back back surgeries.  Anyway, looking forward to seeing your progress on the motor as I'm also going to be building my 440, hopefully this spring/summer.

The engine is done, see the pic above. I was hoping for more body work done this summer, but as things added up it became a project that was going to take longer than I initially thought (mostly for lack of money, lol). While I await more body work being done, I'm trying to make sure I have the more expensive items in hand. I figured I'd spend way more than I thought on this project and I am, lol. Helps that I'm single and have no kids, lol. Although there is a reason I am still single, it was either her or the car...guess which one I chose, hahaha.

Anyway, hell I can't wait for even the shell to be ready and painted. When it starts looking like a car once again!

My advice is to pay regular visits to your painter. Friend or not it will not progress without your pushing.
Had same issue with my 68 Mustang. No hurry take your time turned into 3 years and a final deadline to pull it. Still missed the deadline but finished because he knew I was serious.
This was someone I considered a friend.

Yeah I get ya, and I appreciate the advice. I visit him as much as I can w/o trying to be one of those guys that gets annoying. At the start I told him for a cheaper labor cost I'd be willing to sit at the back of the line some, so we negotiated a deal based on that. We also negotiated half the payment up front and the other half when the job is all finished (giving him incentive to get it done). I don't want a rushed job either, and I knew going into this project to expect about 5 years start to finish (give or take). Come next spring though I will start getting anxious so visitations will start getting more frequent, hahaha.

"I don't want a rushed job either"

Yes that was reason for some of my initial "push" hesitation. But eventually wanting it complete trumped the fear.

Good luck.

More updates, a good deal of bodywork has been done. More work still needs to be done before paint, but it's getting closer every day. Can't wait for paint!

Thanks and sorry for the slow updates. I had to put my car on hold last year because I decided I wanted to buy a house. So now I'm getting back on track and should see some color on it by spring and summer. I bought some High Octane Red Pearl (Paint code PRR). It will be an awesome red color, or it better be it wasn't a cheap color by any means lol.

Not too much going on, but I figured I'd toss in a few extra pictures. Got my TTI 440 headers in and test fitting my TA spoiler and front valance. I need to buy a rear valance still, it's looking sharper and sharper every day.
