Paint Code for Rear Stripe
« on: December 05, 2005 - 02:43:09 PM »
How do you go about finding the paint code for a bumble bee stripe on a 70 Challenger R/T?  I have a build sheet that indicates Chartruese, V9J for stripe.  I wanted to have all the paint codes so I can have some mixed up early next year.  Thanks.

The stripe colors for the bumble bee stripes on Challengers are "normal" body colors that they already had. The paint code for V9J is FJ5 ( Sublime )

Kewl. Thanks for the info.  I thought that was how it worked, but I recall an argument about Chartruese being more yellow than sublime so I wasn't sure.  It looks like Sublime on the car though.

The Chartreuse side stripes (vinyl) look more yellow-ish than the chartreuse painted stripes to me, so the argument you heard was likely about the tape stripes?

Have you contacted Ken Bowser about your car? He tracks rare / ususual stripe E-bodies.

No, not yet.  I am in the middle of remodeling a house and building a new garage.  I haven't had a chance to do any real car stuff in almost two years.  It looks like I should have heat and power in the garage in January so I am itching to start on the car.  Though with the new mortgage, I probably priced myself out of restoring an e-body.
