1 Wild R/T: Update, so dropped the pan and windage tray without undoing engine bolts or shroud. When I did, the 440 Source pickup fell off, it sheared right at the threads. Luckily the remainder of the pickup came out without issue. I did notice a random bounce on the way home with the car, but wrote it away to low oil due to the amount I was spewing. On the passenger side, the leak was the worst, I did not see any issues there other than the RTV was not sealed? On the rear, the two rear main studs are a little high and they had been rubbing on the steel windage tray. How my dumb ass missed this on build scares me a bit, so that why the rears didn't seal.
New windage tray in - misses the two back studs along with the pan (This was checked and triple checked). On warm of with 6 quarts, no issues (yet) - appears to be sealed tight! Also, followed others advice, no RTV at all. Very cool tray/pan gasket.
440Source is in my town. So when I took the pickup in they said "we have never seen this before." Yea right - other than the last one I brought in? Yes, I had another pickup fail on me in the same fashion about 4 years ago - like the windage tray, I swore I would never use one again. They gave my money back, didn't ask about the cheap ass windage tray, figured I will mark that one up to hard stupid lessons learned.
Thanks for the help - Oh and went to Summit, bought a Mopar Performance pickup -
Thank you and any ribbing I get for missing the studs - well deserved.
