Newport center section
« on: March 23, 2017 - 01:13:33 PM »
Wondering if any one can tell me what center sections were used in newports. My barracuda has a 741 open and I found a sitting newport that I cab tell has an 8.75", but it's sitting in some snow/mud and am wondering if it's worth pursuing. I'm looking for a 742/489 sure grip

It came with a 489... Whats in it now is anybody's guess... Probably still a 489 but....  Then there's the fact it's probably a 2.76 gear... Possibly a 2.94 or a 3.23...  Also likely an open carrier...  Why are you wanting to get rid of the 741?  It's tougher than you think... :2cents:
