72 Cuda Clutch over spring question
« on: March 16, 2017 - 07:19:37 PM »
Hi all:
The diagram I have shows the coil side of the spring in the pedal box and the rod end attached to the pedal. I can't seem to install mine that way. It does go together in reverse. Can anyone confirm that the service diagram is wrong before I install my pedals again?  Thanks in advance.  Bill

Is this the spring that brings the pedal back up, my pedal only returns about halfway up and have to use  the top of the foot under to finsh up if I want.
Maybe mines on wrong, have to look at how its attached.

Over center spring helps to pull the clutch pedal to the floor to make it easier to depress. It Dosent bring the pedal back up. If the pedal is not returning back up, maybe the clutch dosent have enough force to return the pedal. If a diaphragm clutch is used then the over center spring needs to be removed or the pedal will stick to the floor.

Correct.
When the pedal is past the 1/2 way point back up it does.

Can't confirm either way but a quick look at Alan's web site turns up the photo below. Common sense says if it only goes on correctly 1 way, do it.  :2cents:
