Dog Dish Hubcaps Won't Fit Wheel Vintiques Steelies

I have a set of Wheel Vintiques 15x7 steelies that I bought new last year along with F60-15's because I love the look of poly's and dog dishes. They're on my Road Runner now, but I intend to put them on my Challenger when/if its ever road worthy. They've held up great for about 3k miles now, but there is one big problem: The friggin' dog dishes don't fit right! They install over the center nubs but its too easy, and I'm pretty sure they would fly off going down the road. My old set of 15x6's would about break your hand pounding them on and you had to pry them off.
What gives? Has anyone dealt with this themselves?

I haven't dealt with it but if it close now I'll bet a few little properly positioned weld beads would tighten it right up.... Probably take some minor shaping with a grinder to make them nice & snug..

I've seen other threads here about this same issue including some losing a poverty cap going down the road. Someone mentioned machining in a 'ridge' for the hubcap to bite into on the face of the rim by spinning the wheel and using some type of cutting tool. Do a search on this and send a note to that person to see exactly what they did. Cool old 70 Roadrunner, have one myself!

Thanks Jim, I'll have to give that a shot, or find some genuine 15x7 steel wheels. Yeah, 70RR's were my favorite car when I was kid, it was my first car, can't bring myself to paint it for some reason.
