1970 Cuda lower front windheild stainless not fitting?
« on: May 06, 2017 - 11:23:02 AM »
Just acquired a 70 Cuda and trying to get things in order-the lower front windshield stainless was not in place but sitting unbolted on the windshield-I removed the wipers from the splines and attempted to place the lower trim over the splines where the larger holes were and the trim holes are slightly to small so the trim does not go over them-am I missing something in this installation?

If Cuda is like my Challenger, one of the wiper pivot screws on each unit are actually part of what holds the trim down. I believe it's the bottom one on each pivot that I had to remove to get the trim off. Is this the area of the problem?

Not sure about your comment-the lower trim is like 4 feet long and 2-3" wide and has 2 holes where I assume the wiper splines would go through and like 3 other holes for screws to hold it down-thing is the round spline will not go through the trim hole maybe a 16th to small-and its all stock -and I have checked the trim type and its all correct-

Big mystery solved-my trim was loose and not screwed down when I got the car-now while searching photos I finally see that the larger holes (2) I assumed the wiper splines would go through actually need to  line up  above to the splines and these larger holes need  1 screw of the 3 that mount the splines to the body of the car-
