Did this install at the end of last year but I wanted to post some pics and info. First, I'm 6'3" and no way could I drive this car when I first purchased it. I have the 6-way seat and that wasn't any help. I was able to fabricate some extensions for the sliders which helped a bit.
I decided to go ahead and purchase the ididit tilt column for the E-body. Also, the crush can type adapter for the stock wheel.
The install was incredibly seamless. There could be a challenge for some removing the old steering box to column as the roll pin could be a bit seized. Mine fortunately, was easy. I used a few extension sockets put together to reach the pin and a hex head socket to punch it out.
The rest went very well and easy until the stock rimblow wheel needed to be installed. Because of the connector tab on the rear side of the rim blow wheel, it causes interference with the adapter. I callled Ididit for a solution as this was suppose to fit with the purchased adapter. Although, very friendly, the staff was unaware that the E-body had a rimblow wheel as a factory option and had no provision to make it fit.
Here's what I was up against.
The stock column:
I decided to cut and scallop the adapter, trying to be a neat as possible. It would be out of sight once the wheel was installed.
After the the mod, the wheel bolted up great. The wiring adapter is perfect except that I haven't got the hazards to work yet. Not sure if they worked before so not a big issue. Ididit uses a GM key, but that is a small cosmetic bit. I can now drive the Cuda very comfortably.
