I got 472 rwhp, 140hp lost in the 727!!

I see you have a electric water pump and 3 inch exhaust. Is it a belt fan or electric? 22 percent seems like a lot to lose.

22% sure seems like a lot to lose, converter slippage? I wonder how a four speed manual compares? Basically when a manual 4 speed is in 4th gear, input shaft and output shaft are connected as one... Same as a TF727 in drive less the hp loss turning the hydraulic pump and converter.  :clueless:

impressive numbers, its hard to pinpoint a percentage number on the HP losses, to many variables

yes, Electric water pump and Electric fan, the "dynoman" said there was alot of converter slippage.. With manual he think there would be about 50-60 more hp to the Wheels..

That's what I was thinking, what converter are you running? Nice build BTW!

thanks, all i know is 2500 stall speed, 10 3/4"  it spin the tires when shifting to 2nd gear at low speed  :cooldancing:

the drivetrain is matching number, if it wasnt i would do a 4spd swap

No need for a four speed swap, but i would look into a better torque converter IMO. Many years ago there was a "Shotgun" converter method being used. They would take a stock converter and cut it open and increase the clearance between the turbine and the impeller, increasing the stall speed rpm to whatever you wanted, but the slippage was ridiculous, as expected. All heat and blowby on the top end. Check into it, you never know! :2cents:
