Years ago I went to a small show from which we later caravanned to a bigger show in the city. There must of been at least a dozen of us  motoring along when one of the Challengers with a small block blew the small thermostat bypass hose. The stretch of road we were on was rural and there wasn't any town nearby with a motor parts store. As some of you may know from experience, that little hose is near impossible to patch or duct-tape a temp fix to so you can limp on into a place where you can replace it. Fortunately, one guy in the caravan (me) carried an extra thermostat bypass hose and a gallon of coolant in his repair kit in the trunk. So if you have a small block, I'd be carrying an extra thermostat bypass hose.
Cheers!

Whatever size freeze plugs your block takes, and 3-4 of the rubber push in and bolt expansion kind.
