So I got the car! Wooooo!

It's not without its quirks though. Can't unlock the doors with the key, gas gage only kinda works, it burns oil (or leaks...can't tell yet), don't know if I'm in 4th or 2nd, because of a super sloppy shifter, the temp gage sits on C until about 50 miles then it creeps up to mid and would keep going if I don't stop, lights flicker, and the windshield wipers only work on high and only after the knob has been there for 5 seconds..then they only move halfway and whack the cowl.

I've got a lot of stuff to fix. BUT the car looks so good and gets a ton of attention.

Do you have a radiator shroud?
I think I remember the 413 having a crossram intake manifold, always liked the looked of that !

I'll have to take a picture of that in the morning when I check the oil. The info you've posted in this thread and the other one I made is invaluable. You've helped a lot and I realize I may be rebuilding the shifter and replacing the linkages. It does have a radiator shroud and clutch fan. The guy that I bought it from told me that I needed a shorter bolt to have it disengage. I think I'm going to remove the clutch fan and install an electric fan. The 5 year goal is to install a modern 6.4 hemi and 6 speed trans.

I need to replace all these BS gauges. Fuel gauge is wrong, temp gauge is wrong. Alternator gage is retarded. Something clicks in the dash every few minutes and the alternator gauge jumps. I need to rewire the bastard.

Your last comment leads me to suggest you read the MAD electrical article about bypassing the amp guage . With all power routed thru the amp guage, it becomes a fire hazard from what I have read.

Your wiper issue (and clicking every 2 seconds) sounds like an issue I just resolved with my 3-speed wiper motor... found out the screw that grounds the wiper switch to the metal frame of the dash was missing... wiper hadn't worked properly since I bought it in 2004... now have 3 speeds and parking correctly. Even tore washer pump motor apart and got all the rust out of that and lubed it, so it's working now too!

Some of your other electrical gremlins will probably be found in the firewall connectors.. Time spent cleaning and then applying dielectric grease to the connectors will be invaluable!
