Where are the 74 Cuda's??

I see lots of early E-Bodies...a few 73's...but hardly any 74's. Is that just because they aren't as popular as the 70-71's or is it because there were not a lot produced? I mean cmon...it was considered the last of the dinosaurs!

'74's are the rarest of e-bodies. Lowest production numbers.
'70's are the common, run-of-the-mill cars.....

I understand where you are coming from. Consider the  following:

1963-67 Corvette.............67 most valuable
1968-72 Corvette.............69-72 most valuable
1967-69 Camaro..............69 most valuable

Must be the available engines make the difference.

A lot of them junked and we have a lot converted. Too few of them are being restored into the proper'74 ones

All Mopars cost a lot of money to restore, 73 and 74s just don't bring the money when it is time to sell.

Well thanks guys...I see all your points...but I dont know if that makes me glad to have one or sad I have to try and sell one! 

Personally...my favorite year for all models of cars was 1969...excluding the E-bodies of course. If not for the Cuda's my search would have been for a 69 Mach 1 with a 351 Cleveland in it. I love the sound of that engine. Wait...I wont be banned for mentioning a..~gulp~ Ford will I?

Mine is a 74, fixed up the way I want it,which doesn't make some "purist,s" happy, but at least I can say I own one.  Deadeye, where in Md?

That's the key...if it makes you happy. I tried to stay as original as possible...but I had to have a computerized fuel injection system to run 10.5:1 compression, and I liked the ralleye wheels my first Cuda had. I switched the Magnum 500 wheels and grabbed mirrors from a 74 Roadrunner. Except for the wheels and exhaust manifolds I kept 99% of what was original on the car so it could be brought back if need be.

I am in Germantown, MD but my Cuda is currently stored outside of Muncy, PA.

I just posted a thread a few weeks ago about a 74 located in scituate RI at Hall's Garage that he is selling 'complete' (as opposed to parting out). The thread centered on the claim that it had a factory installed pre-smog drive train. Probably a re-stamp but not confirmed either way. I have no idea about condition or options. The guy never got back to me and I lost interest.

Back in 1996 I bought two cars together, a 70 383 Gran Coupe and 74 318 Barracuda. Neither one in great shape. Everyone wanted a 70 or 71 and you couldn't give away a 72, 73 or 74. Now I see the later years are getting more popular. They are still less expensive to buy but if you want an E body on a limited budget it's the way to go.
