Best AN type fuel line to use for E85
« on: September 26, 2016 - 06:29:52 PM »
I ran my car a couple weeks ago at the street car takeover in St. Louis and found out that I have a fuel issue. After looking into it more found my fuel line is breaking down.
What is the best brand to use?
Its just a little 340 with a miss

Use as much steel line as you can.  Other than that, It needs to be teflon hose or at least teflon coated on the inside. All of the typical AN hose you see on summit, jegs and what not is not even rated for pump gas with ethanol.  Even it will degrade but everyone still uses it. Why? I don't know, it shouldn't be allowed for gasoline use.

If it's in your budget, try tech afx, conductive, ptfe hose. They've got several kinds that will work and won't degrade.

Ive plumped 3 cars now with PTFE hose and fittings from here. MUCH cheaper and earls, Aeroquip etc.... and will last with alcohol fuel and even EFI . I was told by Aeroquip that if you leave the fuel in the lines over the winter they last 1 year, 3 years if you remove the fuel..... Go with PTFE hose!

I know this is a old thread but rather that start a new one, question about the PTFE fuel line. Is the line available with out the SS braid? I'm not using AN fittings.

From my research, most any rubber AN hose you buy today will be E85 compatible. Most manufacturers say somewhere on their site that over the past few years, they have transitioned to a rubber that is E85 compatible.

I bought the standard "Jegs" brand AN hose and do not expect issues if I go to E85.
