Different set of heads on a 440?

Hi, in an older post ( http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=118521.60 ) about a leaking 440, i discovered that my driver's side cast 906 head was cracked. Anyway i bought a used set of 906 heads and just i was finishing the cleaning job on the replacement head, i discovered that my cracked and replacement heads are different, my cracked head was ported and my new one is stock. My question is this, can i install it and get it done with, or i will have to port the replacement one? Is it a matter of doing damage or just low performance result? (which i don't care)

won't matter except for performance. Only issue might be if old heads were decked, you could end up with manifold alignment issues.

why not do a little bowl cleanup on the stock head?
porting seems fairly easy, if done right. Lots of You-tube
videos on it
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Unfortunately, i don't have the tools and i've moved far away from my budget with this head crack. Would like to do it a lot, but can't afford it now...
