See photos.  I went ahead and bought the repop latches and plates.  I feel they are VERY nice reproductions.  Given the condition of my originals, I didn't feel it was worth the $$$ in trying to get them restored and looking new.  That being said, the plating on the new repros is significantly different than my originals.  The repros have a "satin" finish (which I understand/believe to be correct), while the chrome on my originals, although 43 years old and mildly to heavily pitted, has a shinier finish (as if they were once "mirror chrome" as a bumper for instance).  I don't know if they were mirror chrome originally, or if someone at sometime had them re-chromed, or polished.  Regardless, I am more than happy with the repops.  Regarding the sun-visor rods:  Does anyone know the correct arrangement of the various hardware pieces that attach the rod to the plate?  They did come attached when I received them, so I know how the arrangement was, but I don't know if they were just arbitrarily attached.  As you can see in the photos, there is quite a difference with the hardware between original and repop.  The biggest difference being that the repops don't use/have rubber bushings, but rather two conical shaped spring washers.  If anyone can share any advice on this, it would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

Hmmm the spring washer is an interesting idea but that is what I have and the visors seem to always loosen up!  I just thought it was poor design . .  .  :dunno:   Never saw an original setup?

The repops are identical in size to the originals.  The apparent size difference(s) are most likely related to the position of the pieces in relation to the camera angle.

I bought mine from PGClassic when they were offering 25% off + free shipping during their Labor Day Weekend Sale.  It was a great deal.  I'm pretty certain that these repops are/were only made by one manufacturer.  Therefore, they would be the same pieces no matter who is selling them.  There are MANY retailers offering these for sale, not just YearOne, and PGCLassic (BTW - I would NEVER by from YearOne because they are notoriously much higher priced than EVERYONE else).  FYI - Jim's Auto Parts sells them for more $$$, and only in "Non-Satin" chrome (if that's the plating preference you're interested in).

CONVERTIBLE TOP LATCH ASSEMBLY - These latches are exact duplicates of the Chrysler original parts, excepting the finish which is chrome plated. CV-9001 - 70-71 Cuda & Challenger - $329.95/pr.

CONVERTIBLE TOP RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - These receivers are exact duplicates of the Chrysler original parts, excepting the finish which is chrome plated. CV-9002 - 70-71 Cuda & Challenger - $244.95/pr.

I had a look on my hard top sun visors and they have the same flying saucer looking spring washer on the ends like the new rods you got from PG Classics. I do not have anyconvertible rods to compare with what you posted yet.
The new products really do look nice, are they paint finished in the latch handle recess in a texture finish ?

Hi folks.  I know this is a very old post, but I wanted to keep the thread intact.  Sorry, but it has been a very long time since I've been on the Cuda-Challenger site.  Ever since getting back to work nearly 3 years ago, I have not had time to work on my car, or stay active on Forum Sites/Message Boards.  In late November 2016, the car got picked up to be finished.  We're at the point of installing the new Receiver/SunVisor Plates.  I'm hoping that the members here (especially the convertible owners) can help me out with some photos.  I'd like to see close-up photos of how good/bad the "fit" is of the receiver plates.  Specifically how the fit is on the sides where the plates meet with the center and corner interior windshield trim.

Thanks a bunch.  I'm seeing the same "gaps" where the plates meet with the center and side interior windshield trim.  I thought maybe I was missing something, but I guess not.  Here's a photo showing the same "spacing gaps".  Not my car though.
