Put the pad on first.

I put the pad on mine, then set the wiring harness in place, then started installing the components.  I worked on it upside down on a bench.

Interesting, I've always done it in car.
Always easier to put gauges in first, no way to slide in the switch panel without lifting the dash.

Always pad first, then gauges then light switch panel, very easy to do, it's somewhat harder to install the pad nuts around the gauges if the gauges are in first. I've just swapped from a std dash to a rallye and very easy to do with the pad already in place

And make sure to put the bezel in below the radio before installing the radio and ash try.

Speaking of installing all of that... where could I find replacement nuts and screws for the pad and all assemblies?
