Build sheets?
« on: October 03, 2017 - 05:32:48 PM »
Has anyone found any build sheets in there 1973 Challenger? If so where were they located? I've heard that the "LA" cars didn't have many build sheets pit in them. I'm new to the forums so hopfully I did this right!

I have the same about cars built at the Los Angeles plant. My 70 came from this plant and the broadcast sheet was not to be found.

Check under the seats between the springs. I have seen where the seats get recovered and the upholstery shop shoves the sheet in the void behind the rear plastic cover. Easy to check inside there.

No E-bodies were built in LA after 1970.

They stopped using the hard plastic seat backs for 1973s.

I have looked for the build sheet in my 73 Challenger. Checked under the bucket seats, removed rear seat, under hat rack, around rear of glove box to no avail. Tomorrow, I am removing the bucket seats and console to remove the original carpet to install new carpet. I'm hoping the build sheet is there. If not, I will remove the door panels. I am very interested in finding it because other than the window MSRP and build sheet my 73 Challenger has eight of the possible ten places a vin number is on the car at time of sale. Also, the intake manifold, exhaust manifolds and jack all have correct part numbers/dates. I believe the engine only has ~87,350 miles. Today, ordered Gabriel shocks and radiator hoses from Summit to replace what I think are the original. I had no idea of how original this Challenger is when I recently bought it.

I found mine under the rear seat in perfect condition. It is a '73 Challenger. There was a second one under the passenger seat but it wasn't salvageable.
