tunnel hump conversion
« on: July 11, 2005 - 03:28:42 PM »
Hi. When installing a tunnel hump for auto to manual , how much of the floor needs to be cut out,  also the floor brace that is there has to be cut, i have the new hump panel and it seems that when the bucket seat is postioned all the way to the front ,it rubs at the front. is this normal. can someone maybe give me measurments for the shifter hole say from centre to firewall, and centre to drivers door. thanks   ps  no drivetrain in car yet.

you do not need to cut a lot of the floor out
Cody posted some pix of his E body hump from the bottom as a good reference last week
the crossmember should not need to be cut though

Pretty straight forward actually.   The hump is formed so that it centers itself in position.

Thanks for the info all. What is the measurement from the centre of the tranny ( mount) to the centre of the shifter cutout, mine seems to be around 5"  which seems to be off looking at the trans and pistol i have in basement. Thanks Terry
