1971 Cuda - 1 mirror
« on: October 06, 2005 - 01:00:58 PM »
Anybody know if it is common for a cuda to only have one side mirror. I thought the passenger side was missing but the door doesn't even have hole to mount a mirror. The doors are original so what is the deal?

Not common as such, but definitely plenty out there.

Your fender tag should read either:

G33 - O/S LH remote race mirror
G34 - O/S LH remote race mirror
G35 - O/S LH remote chrome mirror

Cheers,
Carl

PS: I also resized your avatar, only minor scrooling now, any smaller and you would not see the car clearly enough IMO.
Up to you if you wish to use it. :-)

No worries mate. :-)
That's a shame about the Fender/Build sheet.

But they were built like that so don't worry about looking for your "missing" mirror. lmao!

so its not common, but it was done that way on others. So I can assume that the I chrome rectancle mirror is the factory style?

My guess is it will be the remot type racing mirror. What model is your 'Cuda?

Heck, even into the mid 70's, some cars didn't have both mirrors. So for these cars, it wasn't that rare.

Yep, my cuda only has a driver side mirror too.   It came factory like that.

If it has a rectanglular shape, it is not original. Ford had rectangular mirrors, maybe others too, but not on a Plymouth or Dodge.

In the Vanishing Point movie, didn't that Challenger have a rectangular mirror?  Was that done just to get a smaller mirror so you could see Kowolski better or was that stock?

Wasn't 1 mirror  standard and if you wanted the passenger mirror, it ws an option you had to buy?  I assume most people did choose that option.
