    T/A Hood

    Saturday backed my Harley Heritage Classic out of the garage to finish up on the Challenger's trunk seal. The Harley's clutch grip scratched/gouged the paint on the lower part of the trunk lid diagonally 4"  exactly where a duct tail spoiler mounts. :crying: :eek4: :( So today to ease the pain I ordered the ABS duct tail spoiler to hide the gouge/scratch. Always liked spoilers. The previous owner put the flat black upper side stripes on it. Now want to get a T/A hood for it. Who makes the best T/A hood?

    Off hand I forget the different company's names, but there was one in PA ?? that recently closed their business.   Whatever you get, try to get it with the inserted metal reinforcment strips that help prevent bowing.... you pay for what you get.. so don't shy on the expense.

    Mopar Mitch,Thanks for the reply. aarqualityfiberglass has a good video about their products and how the hoods are made. The hoods have steel reinforcement with original hood pin area marked, but not predrilled. Grey gel-coat finish with no extra bodywork required other than painting. $799.00 plus shipping. Made in USA. Hard to believe they are the only manufacturer in the USA.

    Yep. The company was ASC and P International, Eagle, Pennsylvania. ASC&P discontinued the aar hood and the T/A hood on 2/28/2017. Wonder why?

    I know someone who has an aar Cuda hood and they are happy with the quality

    To my recollection, in years 2015-16 ASC&P simply made the announcement they were closing the business for retirement reasons.   They offered discounts with time limits for anyone interested in buying a T/A or AAR hood.   Their hood still required finishing, prime and paint.
