firewall plug connect restoration

Am going over my wiring harness before I put it back in; a couple of the female cabin-side connectors look a little funky. Is there a fine brush or burnishing tool you can use on those or best to pull the terminal and replace it? How does the terminal come out of the plastic firewall connector?

the male terminal is squeezed to remove it & the female has a small tab on the top that has to be depressed , & I just use sandpaper or wire brush to clean the terminal , using some dielectric grease will help keep it seal when you reconnect it

cool - will do. I read somewhere that some guys are hard connecting that big red lead wire. They drill out the connection place, then feed the wire inside the firewall and hard-solder then shrink wrap it.

can be done , makes it a hassle to unplug the connector though , as long as the connector is clean & has no resistance  it can handle the load

cool - the female connector itself looks pretty weak, will replace it. On the interconnect assembly itself, do the two long screws point aft or forward? My pre-teardown pics show them pointing forward with the cheap stamped nuts on the engine side of the firewall. It looks funky - is that original or is that more of Leroys handywork?  :dontknow:

the long screws were positioned with the heads on the inside & cheap palnuts in the engine compartment , the nut were filled with dumdum from the factory to seal the holes

Can anyone make a recommendation for a good place to buy a complete new harness that looks original including the blocks?  I would rather replace the whole thing than try to fix or restore mine which is in pretty bad shape.  It is important to me however that it look very original or "factory".  Thanks, D.
