Radiator Support
« on: October 19, 2017 - 06:41:24 PM »
Is the radiator support for a 70 six cylinder Barracuda different from a V8 car? I'm trying to in stall a V8 radiator in a Barracuda that was a six cylinder. I noticed tha radiator support is not flat, which makes the radiator difficult to install. Any suggestions for mounting the radiator.  Thanks

My understanding is that they were they same but the opening width is wider when the v8 cars had 26" radiators. The change in width can be fixed by swapping out the driver side metal support. It might help if you put up a few pictures.

You will have to change the radiator support to 26”.  Sherman sells the support. I think you need 160-49BR.  I also think it’s the passenger side brace that needs modified. The drivers side is the same on slant 6 and V8 cars. I hope you haven’t already painted and assembled your car.

I agree, but it seems he is trying to install a 26” radiator.  You probably offer the best solution, get a smaller radiator that fits.
