holes in my cuda hood ????
« on: October 06, 2002 - 05:53:01 PM »
I just bought a 70 cuda, #'s match 383. Body is in good shape. But i have holes in my hood.

There are 9 holes that run the length of the hood, on both sides, about 3 inches in from the outer edges, and are spaced about 5 inches apart from eachother. They are about 1/4 in diameter. Does anyone know what they are for. I'm thinking some kind of moulding. Are they stock, or did a previous owner get drill happy??  it is a fresh air hood, if that helps any.

Also, i have them on the sides, like for body side moulding. Did Cudas come from the factory with body side moulding, or would this be a dealer installed item??

thanks for any info on this. the car runs pretty good, but i have an electical problem, the lights get brighter and dimmer with the rpm of the engine, this is with all lights, inside and out.

thanks again.

Welcome
The Cudas did have a side moulding available but the holes in the hood must be a custom thing. The lights dimming at idle is normal but you could try the Mopar perf voltage reg for more consistant voltage output

the holes in the hood might have been from the installation of dzus faseners or 1/4 turners.I bet your hood was off of an old race car!that regulator should fix your problem also makesure you have a ground strap from your frame to the engine       vince
