carb swap.

the carb we have on the cuda now has one small leak(tried everything to fix it)... also we have no choke so its time for a new one. The engine shop that did the machine work on the block, and got our cam and pistons suggested a 650-700 cfm carb. We found the street avenger 670 in summit, does anyone have any experience with this carb? the engine is a 383, bored .30 over and a slightly more radical cam. Thanks once again.

If your cam isn't too big, then this would work. Do you have a vacuum operated carb. on there now? These street avengers look awesome, but my cam was a little too big to make it work. I always had a bog problem, so I went back to a double pumper.

Our cam is one step up from a stock 383 cam... Then engine shop said 750 is the absolute biggest we should put on and mid to high 600's would be perfect for our set-up...yes our carb currently is vaccum operated.

the one we have now is a 600 cfm...we are getting a new one, just have to decide what to get. HP engines machined our block and did the head work, pick our cam set up and pistons. the say a 670 is perfect for out setup. Why do you suggest a 770 over 670, our engine is prolly pushing mid 300 horsepower??? Thanks

I have set up a couple of close to stock 383s & the dyno has proven that 383s need 750 cfm + with a vacuum secondary it cannot over feed the engine

What do we do with the return line coming from the evap. tube??? can we plug it or what? We would like to order the carb asap. We are prolly going with the 770 Holley Street Avenger, Manual choke. the return line is the only problem now

thew line can either be capped or left open if there is no other vent
