70 Challenger with Drum Brakes
« on: April 08, 2018 - 12:34:03 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm thinking that a 70 Challenger with four wheel drum brakes must be a base model car and could not be either an RT or even a 340 motor car.

Am I correct?

Thanks
Charlie

Four wheel drums were standard on lots of R/T's... But not the 10" drums... They used 11" drums...

No. You could. Order  almost any thing .  A lot of hemi cars and 6 pack cars had 4 wheel drum brakes . I  have had four 70 cudas  2. BH cars and 2 BS cars  .And this is the first one I have owned with factory front discs brakes. .   I could be wrong but I think I read some were. in may of 1972  front disc brakes became standard  in the cuda range .  :dunno:

Yup, I see it now as you guys mentioned and as 1 Wild R/T pointed out, they would have been 11" drums as opposed to 10" drums.

Thanks for the clarification.
