cuda rear seat
« on: April 09, 2018 - 11:45:43 AM »
ok so I started and nearly finished all my interior upholstery work this weekend!!
everything seam to fit and work well as I used all legendary brand interior. very nice.
rear seat frames blasted, etched , painted, all recovered with appropriate, burlap, cotton, foam, listing wire, muslin and vinyl seat upholstery.
I have not seen one in person and the seats where not in the car when I acquired it, so I am wondering
what are the proper installation steps?

I do have a few questions:
in what order do the rear seats get installed?
how does the back seat back install and mount?
how does the back seat bottom install and mount?
best time to install seat belts?

Here you go

1. Install the seat belts
2. install the trunk divider (cardboard/fiberboard sheet)
3. install the back seat top; it hooks onto 2 hooks on the top, then swivels down and is held by 2 bolts (like large sheet metal screws)
4. install the back seat bottom; rear edge gets pushed under the bottom of the top, then it lays down slightly and hooks onto 2 hook like devices welded to the floor (look under the bottom, there are 2 U shaped pieces of the seat frame the stand out, these slide into the hooks welded to the floor, the seat U parts slide in there and then push forward to retain the seat bottom).

Before you hook the seat bottom in, you might want to fish the seat belts out as they may not be accessible when the seat bottom is in.

ok, that all sounds good, but when it comes to # 3:
(then swivels down and is held by 2 bolts (like large sheet metal screws)
where do the screws go into the bracket?
any one pictures of these sheet metal screws, and where in the bracket they go?

each side has a bracket with a large open unthreaded hole, and a group of (looks like 3) holes toward the bottom of this bracket, but I can't tell if any of these had threads in them...they are small too....does the screw go into a body clip?, or into the lower portion group of holes of the bracket?

Here is the bracket, the large round hole is where the bolt goes. Its a big (12?) sheet metal screw.
