Repairs inside upper cowl
« on: May 28, 2018 - 07:48:25 AM »
I have repatched holes on the firewall. I can smooth the welds on the cabin side but what are my options for the welds on the other side of the patch that are inside the cowl . Die grinder maybe, not much room in there. I realise nobody will ever look inside the cowl , and I don't need it smooth, I just want it tidy . Paint and body sealer after a die grind ?

All opinions welcome.
Thanks

Definitely seam sealer then paint....   A little soothing with a Die grinder but don't get carried away...

I wouldn't spend too much time trying to smooth them out, you run the risk of doing more damage than smoothing. As you point out, no one will ever look in there and once you get the sealer and paint it will be moot.
