Whatever you do, make sure you put the trunk floor and extensions as well as the rear valance before you weld anything. I did lower quarters on my 70 Challenger as well as trunk floor. I didn't fit the rear valance and was very disappointed when it came time to assemble everything. Consequently, I mocked everything up when I did my Cuda and the net result was that everything fit as it was supposed to when I was done.

In other words, I made the mistake of thinking that the parts all fit together (like a model car) and that if I aligned panels/parts as they appeared to fit that it would all work; NOT SO... there is lots of adjustment that can/must be done. Lastly, in both cars I had to trim the trunk extensions (typically the bottom).
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

We are close to fitting the rear valance, and I have been a little nervous about how that will go. You mentioned having to trim the bottom of the extensions in the past, but isn't the bottom where the mounting holes are for the valance?  :clueless:

There are mounting points there, however you will probably find that there is excess material on them, maybe not but you absolutely need to check by mocking everything up. It might have to do with vendors, who I used might have been crappy examples.

Got it. I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully with a picture of beautifully aligned panels. Thanks again for the input. Much appreciated.

Very welcome, hope it all works out well. It should if you take your time and adjust as necessary.
