Brake kits
« on: December 14, 2018 - 09:03:04 AM »
Hello I have been looking at brake kits to put disks on all four. But I wondering what kits change the offset i  the front or rear.

Thanks in advance

David

Wilwood has the offset change for their kits listed on their website.

Typically it’s marginal since you are removing the drum from the hub and exchanging it with a rotor. ~1/4” track width increase [1/8” per side].

And, unless you're going to rally race this car, I wouldn't bother with rear discs. In good shape, the oem drums do a good job and to go disc on the rear means changing rear axle bearing to the green ones and there's quite a few conversations on here as to whether that's such a great idea. Your car, your call, but just read a bit more about it before pulling the trigger.

Call Doctor Diff and tell him what you currently have and what you plan on doing with the car and he will guide you. I used his rear disc brake kit because it uses OEM calipers which don’t leak as often as race calipers when sitting idle.
