Street Outlaws no prep racing.
« on: January 16, 2019 - 10:32:36 PM »
Comment: It been a little entertaining to watch, but its getting rediculous,
and certainly not street, when you have a 67 Nova 2 dr with a twin turbo big
block making 4000 hp! Getting kinda stupid rediculous, and leaving its street
roots.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I stopped watching it when they started racing Pro Mod type cars. When it was street cars, it was enjoyable. It turned into every other kind of racing  --  cubic dollars to win, so I lost interest...

Ya, you better have $100,000+, plus major endorsements and support from Pro-Charger, FI Tech, etc.

Same here.  They lost me when all the non street cars came out.

It's fun to watch for a little while

They would be wise to limit engine displacements to 500 cu in, and 93 octane,
one power enhancer, etc. Would be more street realistic!

I always thought a separate class for real street cars was in order. All steel from the firewall back, small, or spec tire, back halfed only, and as mentioned cubic inch limit. That said, even with the cars that I proposed, money is always a factor. Even when I was bracket racing in the 90's, the guys with the best equipment had a certain advantages like spare engines, transmissions, and enclosed trailers full of gear that I could not afford. It did not happen often but, when I put one of the high dollar cars packing, the win was just a little sweeter.  :grinyes:
