LCA Bushings Advice
« on: February 22, 2019 - 10:07:25 PM »
Seeking advice!

I am about to order bushings for my lower control arms. My pivot shafts are in great shape and so are the shells, is it okay to run the original shafts in poly bushings if I grease them correctly? Or do I need to order a kit with greaseable shafts?

I might be wrong but I do not think you can run poly bushings with the factory housings. I would someone who makes poly bushings would have instructions online.

Check FirmFeel.com  :2thumbs:
If you order Poly Bushings from FirmFeel they state that you must re-use your outter shells.
They also offer Greasable Pivot shaft kits with poly bushings.
They sell Nylon Bushings too.

I did the firm feel greasable pivot pins with poly bushings.  You have to use the OEM cups with the poly bushings.  I had damage on my K-frame hole where someone welded the pivot shaft to the k-frame so I didn't have a choice but replace them and reinforce the hole.  Fortunately I was a novice and didn't realize that when I was removing the other shafts with the rubber bushings and the cups did not move.  I was unaware that the rubber bushings were in a cup until Firm Feel required the original cups  :roflsmiley:.
