C5/C6 front K-member swap or suspension conversion
« on: April 05, 2019 - 12:36:19 PM »
I am currently swapping a G3 Hemi and TR6060 in my wife's E-Body, I have been setting it up to do AutoX and a few Optima events.  I upgraded the suspension a while ago to Hotchkis stuff and bigger brakes, however I am looking for more.  I have been looking into modifying and swapping a C5/C6 corvette front suspension and later the rear IRS.  I know there are companies that make K-members with coil overs, however none of them seem to have the roll center and refinement that the C5/C6 stuff does. Some of the kits actually use C5 lower arm geometry.  The two K-members are very similar in width and I think I can definitely dress the height issue by making some new frame rails, has anyone attempted this type of setup, I could not find anything.  Before the blasts come I have looked at the SRT K-members to keep with Ma Mopar, however the design is less similar to the Body than the Vette stuff.

Seems like a pretty huge undertaking and I am not sure the result is worth the effort however you seem to have your reasons. There is a site dedicated to Pro Touring Mopars where its members have taken great effort to change their suspensions for one reason or another.
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

Your best bet is to get a full frame chassis from AME:

https://www.artmorrison.com/maxg.php

'70 318-auto Chally 'vert
'71 383-auto 'Cuda 'vert (sold)
06 300c SRT8
04 2500 QCLB 4x4 HO

This is probably the best option for you. Unlike the Morrison frame which basically requires you to remove the entire floor and sub structure, this one will on require partial removal to give you what you want.
