Rear leaf spring question
« on: September 23, 2002 - 02:20:51 PM »
Please forgive my ignorance, but I am not sure of the history of my Challe's rear leaf springs.  They lift the rear of the car a bit.  I know the guy who had it before me put slicks on her and ran at the track.  I like the look of it being lower.  Can anyone tell by the pic what type of leaf spring I have?  I was thinking of replacing these, any suggestions?  thanks

Looks like stock Ralley suspension to me , you could just have them de-arced or use a block beteen the axle & spring to lower the stance  ;)

It has an extra leaf compared to my neighbors 73 barracuda.  His is not a real cuda and mine is a Rallye, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

The base E bodies had less leafs than the Ralleys or Cudas with the performance suspension

thanks for your input.
The block idea is interesting.  What material would you use for a block?

The blocks are made of steel or cast iron , the speed shops should have them & you would need new U bolts too  ;)
