    73 Challenger interior

    New member and first post. I have a 73 Challenger. Putchased new by me at age 18 so a one owner car. The interesting thing and am wondering if anyone else has run across this. The car was built in July and has a 74 interior in it. Obviously being the only owner, there is no doubt it was not changed by anyone

    Please school me on the difference's between 73 and 74 challenger interiors.  I've not noticed a difference.

    Me neither and I own a 74. My buddy's got a 73 and I'm looking forwards to finding out the diff.  :cheers:

    Yes according to this article the front seat did have the no start interlock switch in the seat to prevent starting.

    Just in time for the 1974 models was the federally mandated “interlock passenger restraint system” that prevented the car from being started until the front seatbelts were secured; a weight-sensitive electric switch in the seat determined which belts needed fastening. From the article

    that interlock suck so bad.  It is still installed on my 74 charger.  Totally sucks.
