    Got a couple of things that I want to clear up..............first I am knee deep in harmonic balancers........Do the 383s and 440s share the same harmonic balancer?    Gonna have my rotating assembly balanced and I am sure he will need the harmonic balancer........

    2.  My car is ps, pb, and A/C       again I have some pulleys that I inherited when i got the car.......Questin is simply this.......Does the crank pulley have 2 or 3 grooves?     How many grooves will the fan pulley have?
    I am hoping crank is 2 grooves........I think fan is single groove, but not sure......thanks  Kevin

    383  & 440 steel crank engines use the same dampers , 440 cast crank dampers are different & are thicker

    2 groove crank pulleys are used for alt /waterpump & power steering , most A/C pumps use 2 belts so the crank pulley is a 4 groove piece

    My SE is  A/C and PS


    A/C compressor is 2 belts

    PS is one belt

    Water pump is one belt

    Alternator is 2 belts

    Crank is 4 belts

    Idler pulley is one belt

    Waterpump is one belt


    Now that youre on the search for a 4 belt crank pulley......
    The 4 groove pulley for a CAST Crank and the 4 groove pulley for a FORGED crank have DIFFERENT BOLT PATTERNS.   so watch for that.

    440source.com has the part numbers and the detail you need to distiguish both.  eBay ought to have something for you.
