Door gaps

I am trying to get my door gaps correct before I repaint, and I am having a heck of a time getting the gap on the bottom of the door to look good. If I match the top of the door with the pillar/door jamb and get the correct door jamb gap, then I end up with a wider gap all the way across the bottom of the door. Is this supposed to be a wider gap? This is all original metal, so nothing has been modified. I am using a paint stick for setting my door gaps. Maybe this is too narrow?

If it makes you fell any better, the drivers door to rocker gap on my 74 Challenger, from the factory, was large enough for me to put my fingers in between the bottom of the door and the rocker! It was at least 5/8ths". I ended up welding a 3/16th rod onto the lower edge and grinding it to finish. There is no way in hell for you to match the body lines AND have a good, close fit. Having said that, a paint stick- in my painters world, is about 5/32nds thick and not even Rolls Royce has that tight a fit. Just driving the car would result in panels bashing/rubbing together. You'll hear guys talking about 3/16ths gaps, but that's on show cars that aren't regularly driven and it takes a hell of a lot of welding/grinding to achieve those gaps. A 1/4 to 5/16" gap is more than close enough IMHO. Have fun!
