Well here is the problem I took the cuda out for a blast on saturday and when I turned onto my street like any good mopar nut I decided to pull a holeshot. Well at that moment the rear u-joint decided to grenade :'(. Well I was looking at new driveshafts since the yoke is ruined on mine and I also have to replace the yoke on the differential since it was ruined (when break I it, I break it good ;D) I was wondering should I go with the large 7290 u-joints because I have a differntial yoke for that, or should I go with the 1350 joint that mark williams and moser offer on their driveshafts.

I don`t know anything about the 1350 joint , just the 7260 small & 7290 large Mopar joints

the 1350 joint, is a little stronger and i think it's a really a ford joint the lock clips goes on the end were as the 7290 goes on the inside.

i think the yoke on the rear will need to be changed to use 1350.

the 7290 joint from spicer called 'lubed for life' is about the best in strength for that type. the part number is sp5-636x ..i have a set in both my cars and i'm not easy on them.

i don't see why you would need to change to the 1350. most people use them in racing. i have used the 7290 and the 7260 under alot of abuse and not had a problem.

Thanks guys I think I'm going to go with the 7290 joint.  It should hold up ;D. The other joint was a 30 year old 7260 I can't imagine why it didn't hold up......HAHA

Kilrcuda,  just wondering how much they are charging for a driveshaft? I had one made at Mesa Driveshaft in Mesa, AZ a few years ago for a (gulp) Camaro I had and I think they only charged me $225 for a nice moly one with U joints.

I looked around at the different places and they are running about $250 to $350 with joints for a moly shaft. With the aluminum ones running a little higher. I won't be buying anything til' next month so I have some time to research them.
