Looking for small block for 72 Cuda
« on: March 08, 2022 - 02:53:31 PM »
Hey all. Looking for a small block for my 72 Cuda. It's a 318 car, motor was supposed to be a 340 swap but just pulled it and found it's a 318 from a 73 (long story, not my fault I wasn't there when the car was purchased). Anyway...the motor needs rebuilt but I'm not sure I want to rebuild a 318. I'm from Mechanicsburg, PA, looking to see if anything is readily available somewhat close to me for purchase. Would prefer to go 340/360, otherwise I'd just build the 318 I guess but I'd prefer not to. Cash in hand, I'm not window shopping and I'm ready to buy.

I'd try going to FABO and making a request. They seem to be much more into the buying and selling and you odds of finding an engine would be better IMHO. Good luck and I'd try for a 360m they're not so expensive.

How are you JKcuda, I have two engines for sale. 1st one is a bone stock 73 340 that ran but will need a rebuild, the only thing missing is the balancer, it has the original intake and exhaust manifolds on it. 2nd engine is a Magnum 360 .020 over just got back from the machine shop. It will need assembly and have not picked a camshaft/lifters for it yet. It also has freshened up Edelbrock aluminum heads w/roller 1.6 ratio rockers, Edelbrock Air Gap manifold, 750 cfm Holley carburetor, Mopar polished cast aluminum valve covers, new rings and bearings and gaskets for assembly. Has distributor and wires too.
Engine #1 $1k , Engine #2 $4,600 disassembled w/parts and $6,200 completely assembly and break in...
Also have a small block 727 with deep pan and shift kit and TCI 2500 convertor $1,200 for both..
Thanks Vin..
