Road Worthy Issue - Yellow Signal Lights - South Australia
« on: October 18, 2022 - 03:13:17 AM »
Looking for some assistance.

The government of South Australia have made it mandatory as of July 2022 for yellow rear signal lights on anything from 1973 or newer to pass road worthy inspection, I'm having no luck in finding anything MOPAR to past this item and get it on the road.

I have found various LED light sets but looking to stay as close to OEM as possible. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Clint

You should join e-bodies.org

I am thinking that the rear turn signals are a 1156 bulb, they make yellow (amber) ones that were used back in the day.

Yeah, but I believe the lens is the issue as it's red and that yellow bulb would still come through as red. What a bunch of autocratic arse holes. I think you'll have to fabricate a new lens or at least part of one. Sorry mate, that's all I've got.

Its the lens thats the issue, and the 73 Barracuda is a single bulb setup.

Thanks for the suggestions.

If no other way, I'd cut out the red portion and using a piece of clear plastic, cut/heat/glue and shape a replacement for the old red one. Then I'd use a 1157Amber and see if that placates the wankers who caused all the misery. It'll be a huge PITA, but realistically, what are your options?
