I'll never forget one day back in about the summer of '69, when I was at Grand Bend beach, and idling up the highway due to traffic, was a dark green (F8?) Charger and as I overtook it walking, I was able to see that it was a Hemi 4spd car with black guts and vinyl roof and it burned such a hole in my tiny brain that it's been my dream car ever since. You know, the one you'd buy shortly after cashing that bid lotto cheque? My friend recently bought a '68 Charger R/T 440 TF car and it's a real sweetheart- wish it was mine!

I began  dreaming about mopars in about 97.
Got my first cuda/mopar around 99-2000.
Not once since I have been into mopars have I been able to pick up a charger.  There used to be, literally a dozen in my little town, 2004 hit and they all went from 2000.00 cars to 15000.00 cars.  I would love to have a 2nd gen charger.

I have a 74.  zero rust 318.  Has a dent on every panel.  rebuilt the 318 just because I have not ever driven a charger and want to.  transmission broke within a few drives around the block.  Discouraging.  But I got to drive one.  Not burn the tires though.

Hollywood and Barrett Jackson really in some ways ruined this hobby.  However, they did help in the creation of a class of men/women who restore cars to their former glory.  I think that's great as I didn't see these cars back in their former glory. All i"ve seen is pieces of crap drive around, so seeing a restored car is refreshing.

Everyone has their stories, I have had a 69 Charger, 68 Charger RT, a 70 Charger RT, a 71 hardtop Charger (383 AT) and now another 71 hardtop Charger. I always preferred E bodies but in the B body area I preferred Roadrunners to Chargers. However I have to say that a 71/2 Charger is kind of a like a combination of an E and a Roadrunner with the air grabber and the pistol grip.
Current Mopar
70 Challenger RT 440-6 EFI, 73 Cuda 416-6 EFI
05 Hemi Durango, 01 Ram 4x4, 14 Ram 2500 4X4, 10 PCP Challenger 6 spd RT, 01 Viper GTS ACR, 52 B3B w/330 Desoto Hemi, 70 Hemi RR (under const)
Past Mopars
9 x Challengers. AAR Cuda, 4 RR, 2 GTX, 4 Chargers, etc... (too many to list)

I will pretty much pick up any model I can that is new to me.
I have a 74 charger, but that is really quite different.  And I've really only driven it maybe, 1 mile.  Around the block multiple times. Now the trans is broke after rebuilding the motor.  Backburner.

Not had any other B body.   Many I would love to be a care taker for.
only had newport c body's.  Always looking for a sport fury gt 1970
only driven one A body, my 67 cuda.  did own a duster. didn't get to drive it unfortunately.
Have yet to drive a challenger.
Driven around 6 ebodie's.

I can't wait to buy the next thing that is new to me.  And smoke a tire off.

Jeeps and trucks galore.

Everyone's experiences are different and some people just fall into certain brands/models. I've always had a love for E bodies (since I was like 14) but until I got my first one they were always hard to find. Once I got that first one (a 74) I started finding them or they found me. As mentioned I did come into some Chargers along the way but again, I was never all that thrilled about them. I had 2 70 GTXs which I liked, one of which was a very cool car 440 4bbl 4spd AG bucket seat, burnt orange in and out with black stipes. I paid $800 for that car around 84 in NC, sold it for $1200 and the guy who bought it got T boned at an intersection totaling the car. I had a AAR that I paid $250 (plus a pistol) for, it never ran while i had it but I sold it for $1200 just before I went overseas in 86.

I love my 70 Challenger RT which was a basket case when I got it. I love my 73 Cuda as well, but my attention has always been more on the Challenger body style. I have had a number of A bodies (was never a big fan), I have a 68 Cuda now that I am not sure what I will do with it. In the past I have had a number of Dusters, 1 or 2 Demons, a 65 Dart GT, etc. I have even had a Dodge Colt at one time (complete POS). I've had a variety of Roadrunners; a 69 383 AT, 70 (the one I have now) and a 74.

The one car that I had that I still think about was a 67 Satellite 383 4spd B5 ext with black interior. I paid $150 for it at a Chevy dealership around 77 or so and I loved it but a sequence of events transpired that ultimately destroyed the car (which I regret). I had the chance to buy a 67 GTX about a year latter but it didn't work out. I have always wanted to find another but never really worked on it all that hard.

so much for the memories...

Since you're into the 66-67 GTX's ( I know there were no 66's) Mike, you might want to come up to the Great White North if they ever re-instate Moparfest in New Hamburg, Ontario. There'a a local guy there that comes with about 7 or 8 of them in a variety of flavours and colours and they're all done to a "T". He parked some of them right behind our wee E Bodies.org group at the last Moparfest we got to go to.

Ian - that sounds like a plan if the world ever sorts itself out. The funny thing with the 67s is that I don't find them super sexy or anything like an E body but I just have this soft spot for them. I say I would like to get one but I am not sure I would pull the trigger if I was confronted by a deal on one, I have too much other crap going on. Now if someone wanted to trade me one for say my 68 Cuda I might consider it, but I have to be honest and say I prefer the lines on the Cuda... LOL All that said, a 67 convert 4 spd with a 5.7 might be something I would lust after.
