Mild 440 build
« on: August 29, 2022 - 06:09:54 PM »
It's been a few yrs but Im finally getting back to working on the 73 cuda. Looking for suggestions for my motor build. It's a STD 74 440HP block with stock pistons and rods and a STD cast crank.
After my research on here I'd like to add these components and want to know what the more experienced mopar guys on here think.

-Holley 4160 carb
-Eddys rpm intake(I have a Weiand 7512 if that's better)
-Stealth non ported heads
-Voodoo 10230702 or 703 hydraulic flat tappet cam (not sure which would be better for my needs)
-lifters?
-10° locks and retainers
-440 source roller rockers
-push rods(what to buy?)
-Speed pro forged pistons(with valve reliefs to raise CR)
-Rods(will stock be fine?)
-stock cast crank unless I should buy a forged?
-440 source high flow water pump(should I replace stock housing with 440 source housing)
-Melling HP oil pump
-Fuel pump(mechanical what size or electric?)
-440 source balancer
-440 source flex plate
-Viton Rear main seal with silicone side strips
-440 source billet rear main seal cap
-Dougs headers(as long as they clear everything and don't ruin starters)

I'll be running 3.23 gears with a 727. Not sure on stall converter? I don't want a lot because I don't want it heating up. My drive into town is 30 minutes down the hwy and I'd like to take this car on a route 66 run from Idaho and back. I'm on a budget and I'm not ready to build the 512 stroker yet. I value the more knowledgeable on this forum so let me know what you think and if I should make changes for my needs.

If it's been a few years you'll eventually notice that this site is dead! There may be about 5 members that still contribute (me included) and the posts usually advise to join: e-bodies.org   Pretty much anyone that used to be active here has moved to there, you should too.

Sorry, but I can't comment on the parts you want to use

You will get way more replies over there.
I also can not comment on the specific parts.  But would follow what someone else has to say. See you on the flip side.
