Power Window Issues
« on: August 13, 2005 - 04:17:56 PM »
I'm not sure if this is in the right category or not, but here goes.    I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 112000 miles. Runs great but all of a sudden the power windows have decided not to go up when they are down or down when they are up.

I have changed the indicated fuse / circuit breaker, but they still don't work on a regular and continuous basis.    By the way, the air conditioner gave up the ghost last year & it's in the mid 90's!

Has any one else had this problem?  Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Is this an issue with all the windows? The problem could be in the driver's control panel if the switches on the doors themselves work the way they should.

IMO won't be anything to do with the window mechs themself if all are doing it, highly unlikely that all windows would freeze.
Have you checked the wiring for niks and cuts, bangs etc? Connections in and properly connected?

I would start tracing the power out  see fi the main switch on the drivers door has power & see if you have a switch problem or a power problem to start
